Lakeside Cabin

This nearly 3,000 sq. ft. custom home is built for both durability and luxury, featuring an additional 600 sq. ft. garage, 855 sq. ft. of covered and screened-in patio space, and 1,223 sq. ft. of open patio for seamless indoor-outdoor living. The foundation is anchored by 51 poured piles extending 45 feet into the earth, ensuring long-term structural integrity. Designed for extreme weather conditions, the property includes 2,950 sq. ft. of heated exterior concrete coated with a durable pebble epoxy surface. This advanced system is synced with the weather channel, allowing it to automatically activate before snowfall and shut off once the surface is dry. The home’s handmade structural timber trusses add both strength and rustic elegance, while a solar array with battery backup and a spring-fed water supply ensure complete off-grid sustainability. Sitting at an elevation of 9,460 feet, the property also boasts a custom-built 4-acre lake with a private island, adding to its unique character. Constructing this masterpiece required navigating two brutal winters, with snow removal for over a mile of driveway through drifts exceeding six feet and temperatures plunging to -21°F. Delivering materials was a logistical challenge, requiring early-morning truck deliveries before sunrise to prevent road and vehicle damage from thawing and refreezing cycles. Despite the extreme conditions, this build stands as a testament to expert craftsmanship, resilience, and innovative engineering.
